something you may not know about me? i'm the oldest of 6 kids in my fam. me, two brothers, and three little sisters. we're all about 2 years apart or so, and i LOVE that. what i love even more? the fact that all of my sisters are old enough to hang with and share secrets with and talk in a more "adult" way with now.......bahaha! okay wait. that maybe sounded way weird.
what i mean is that growing up i was almost 7 years apart from the next girl in the fam. so i never felt like i truly got that "special" sister bond/stay up all night talking about boys/share and steal clothes/drama connection. i left for college when they were all still little (and for a really long time they were like, perma in my mind like that...it was so weird to see them more grown up every time i would go home for holidays!) BUT now i have two sisters that are in college and live about a half hour from me!! cue the girls nights :)
my second youngest sissy, Alair, started cosmetology school at Taylor Andrews this summer. i can't even remember how it got brought up (i probably convinced her, actually...haha), but we came to the conclusion that she needed a blog for all the rest of us to follow her along in this new life adventure. yeah, of course i was so on it.
i was excited and nervous to see all the bright colors on her Pinterest board for this. i know she really wanted it to be fun, but not crazy. also, because she had the word "rainbow" in her title, we really didn't want it to feel horribly flower childy-ish...you know?! here is the final mood board we ended up with:
pink blazer model // effortless // gold pineapple // b&w pineapple // good vibes // gold necklace // mint dress model // mint flower // navy stripes
it was so fun to work with Alair on this project! it evolved from "just a blog" to a tool she can use after she graduates from Taylor Andrews, starts to make her mark on the world, and gathers and connects with clients. i even learned new coding, and that always makes me feel accomplished (ugh sounds so nerdy...but it's so true!).
her blog was built on the Blogger platform (.blogspot.com). one thing that i really wanted her to have - and that i think looks nice in general - was a landing page. typically you see these more on the Worpress.org sites. i think they add a nice touch of professionalism and can be really useful for readers to get to know what you're all about. here's how Alair's turned out:
okay so enough talking, if you want to go check it out yourself (you do!) then go here:
